The Ozark Hollow Press team strives to meet authors and readers in their natural habitats, getting to know people by face and name (though, some of us might struggle with remembering names...). Our authors, too, enjoy sharing their stories and passion for writing with their communities. Check out some of the events we've attended below!

Collaborations

BookSong by speakuptalkradio.com

We had a lot of fun working with the folks at speakuptalkradio.com, who created a fun BookSong for Linda Laughlin's Eric and Nic Nic, Unlikely Friends. Featuring a duet between the two main characters that focuses on the themes of friendship and being yourself, the song is heartwarming, catchy, and adorable. Check out their website here! Tom Tracy Books

Tom Tracy has put together a catalog of children's books celebrating diversity and representation as a resource for parents and teachers to find new and empowering stories to share with young readers. We had the opportunity to include Linda Laughlin's How Wise Old Owl Got His Name and Eric and Nic Nic: Unlikely Friends in this catalog. You can access it for free by clicking on the image above. Crowder College Young Authors Conference

On May 3, 2025, Crowder College in Neosho, MO hosted an event celebrating the stories written by young authors. Elementary schools in the area had participated in a writing contest and the winners from each school attended to meet with local authors and illustrators and engage with a community of creativity. Ozark Hollow Press had the honor of being a sponsor and participant in the event.

Pearl's Books, Fayetteville AR

On January 26th, 2025, Nancy Hartney hosted a book signing for her work The Blue Bottle Tree. She completely sold out of books!

Peculiar Winery, Peculiar MO

On June 23rd, 2024, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields celebrated the launch of her book Last Dance With Annie. It was a great turnout with entertainment and smiles all around.

Books and Burrow, Pittsburg KS

On February 18th, 2023, Darrell Lacey met with readers and shared his story Brothers of the State.

Ozarks Writers League, Joplin MO

April 2025

On April 25-26, we attended the spring OWL conference. We were excited to see the venue change to Joplin, MO, where we got to meet many new people and, surprisingly, reunite with some old acquaintances! Team member Lia Wu reconnected with her kindergarten teacher Terry McDermid, herself now an accomplished author!

Joplin Writers' Faire, Joplin MO October 2024

On October 12, we met with our authors Clay Dwyer and Kayla Branstetter and local writers in the community at the Joplin Public Library.

Ozarks Writers League, Branson MO October 2023

On October 27-28, 2023, Ozark Hollow Press attended the fall OWL conference. Several of our authors, including Brian O'Dea, Nancy Hartney, Stephen Brayton, and Linda Laughlin were present and won awards in the conference's writing contest or led panels giving writing advice.

On April 28-29, 2023, we returned to Branson to attend the spring OWL conference. Ozark Hollow Press team member Lia Wu and Ozark Hollow Press author Rochelle Wisoff-Fields were part of a panel to give advice on how to get published.

Joplin Writers' Faire, Joplin MO October 2023

On October 7, 2023, Ozark Hollow Press author Darrell Lacey joined team member Lia Wu at the Joplin Public Library for a writers' faire celebrating local authors and author collaboration.

Ozarks Writers League, Branson MO October 2022

On October 28-29, 2022, Ozark Hollow Press promoted Darrell Lacey's Brothers of the State while attending our first OWL conference. We had the honor of meeting several authors we would soon begin working with, such as Linda Laughlin, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, and Brian O'Dea.
