Community Events

On May 2, editor Tricia Wu visited with young authors at Crowder College to congratulate them on winning their school writing contests and to encourage them to keep writing. It was a great turn out celebrating the future generations of authors, illustrators, and storytellers!

On October 25, author Rochelle Wisoff-Fields set up her book table at the Ozarks Writers League conference in the Joplin Public Library. 

On April 25-26, we attended the spring OWL conference. We were excited to see the venue change to Joplin, MO, where we got to meet many new people and, surprisingly, reunite with some old acquaintances! Team member Lia Wu reconnected with her kindergarten teacher Terry McDermid, herself now an accomplished author!

On October 12, we met with Clay Dwyer and Kayla Branstetter and local writers in the community at the Joplin Public Library. 

On October 27-28, 2023, Ozark Hollow Press attended the fall OWL conference. Several of our authors, including Brian O'Dea, Nancy Hartney, Stephen Brayton, and Linda Laughlin were present and won awards in the conference's writing contest or led panels giving writing advice. 

On April 28-29, 2023, we returned to Branson to attend the spring OWL conference. Ozark Hollow Press team member Lia Wu and Ozark Hollow Press author Rochelle Wisoff-Fields were part of a panel to give advice on how to get published. 

On May 2, Lia Wu talked to writers about the dos, don'ts, and what-to-knows about publishing in her presentation "So You Have A Manuscript. Now What?"

On September 3-7, author Stephen L. Brayton attended Bouchercon, a convention for mystery and thriller enthusiasts, to talk about his (then) upcoming book A Cold New Year. He spoke about his work on a panel with fellow authors in his genre and had a great time flexing his writing chops!

On November 1-2, 2024, we attended the fall OWL conference. We were so happy to see everyone that we forgot to take pictures! Thank you to the lovely people at ozarkswritersleague.com who took pictures!

On April 12-13, 2024, team members Jadyn Cearnal and Ella Wu attended the spring OWL conference, where Jadyn gave a presentation on the typical publishing timeline and variables. 

On October 7, 2023, Ozark Hollow Press author Darrell Lacey joined team member Lia Wu at the Joplin Public Library for a writers' faire celebrating local authors and author collaboration. 

On October 28-29, 2022, Ozark Hollow Press promoted Darrell Lacey's Brothers of the State while attending our first OWL conference. We had the honor of meeting several authors we would soon begin working with, such as Linda Laughlin, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, and Brian O'Dea.
